Empathy Skills

connecting with people

Empathy is a skill that can bring people together.

We may find it hard to empathise with some people, but that doesn't mean we can't strengthen our empathy muscles.

Our empathy skills workshop will help us become more adept at perceiving others’ emotions, learning self-regulation techniques and finding ways to encourage perspective-taking in order to work more effectively with others.

OUTCOMES from the workshop

  • Reflect on the importance of empathy in all of your relationships.

  • Explore the three kinds of empathy, based on Daniel Goleman's theory.

  • Discover how to display the four qualities of empathy.

  • Experience the practice of Empathy Mapping and how to use it effectively.

  • Learn the seven “empathy misses” - the way empathy can “go wrong”.

  • Practice how to “loop back” when empathy goes wrong and how to re-establish a relationship and build trust and connection.

"Learning to stand in somebody else's shoes, to see through their eyes, that's how peace begins. And it's up to you to make that happen. Empathy is a quality of character that can change the world."
